The ancient theater of Messina, and with it the theaters of Megalopolis and Sparta, were much more impressive than we believe. Parts of their wooden tent could be moved and, along with them, the scenery, which had wooden frames. Driving the excavation of Peter Themelis in Ancient Messina, researcher Ryuichi Yoshitake from Japanese University of Kumamoto "re-creates" the stage theater structure. The results of the survey have been impressive enough to be reproduced by newspapers and scientific websites such as the Daily Mail and EurekAlert. The biggest surprise was the "rails" of stone that were revealed near the scene and the scene. By studying these narrow conduits, which had been placed to make it possible to move wheeled transports, the scholar and his colleagues concluded that the foreground and the one-storey scenery could also be moved, that is, portable. Together they were moving the scenery, which were flat "paintings" on wooden crates. The area of ??the foreground was also used to show the actors at a higher level than the orchestra (the venue where the show was given). The scenery was also used as a storage area and as a backyard. This is an impressive arrest, which was true of the three theaters mentioned above, as the stone grooves were exactly the same size. This changed during the Roman era, so all the parts of the theater, the scenery and the concourse where the spectators sat, were stone (at least in the Ancient Messini). The scene during the Roman period was three-storey, with three different types of columns (Ionic, Corinthian and Parchment) and niches for statues.
