Karystos stone
Karystos stone is a natural material – schist slate, whose extraction takes place in Karystos, whence the name.
The colour of the Karystos stone is red, with some green tints; it may come unwrought or cut on one side.
The fitting of the stone in both cases can be either seamed or dry.
Karystos stone can be used as an cladding interior walls, fireplaces, bathrooms, as well as outdoor fences, retaining walls, house-building etc.
